The mission of this site is to create an on-line community of well-controlled diabetics helping other newly diagnosed or poorly controlled diabetics.

The premise is:

• Well-controlled diabetics have found or been taught methods that are very effective.


• The general medical community is slow to adopt the most effective methods of controlling diabetes.


• May times, the well-controlled diabetic is more expert in the control of diabetes than those providing treatment.


• Software is a highly effective tool for analyzing and optimizing a diabetic diet.


• The diabetic is responsible to be his or her own medical self advocate and needs access to reliable information to make informed choices.

Methods:

1. Diabetic diet information will be provided in an easy to navigate format for instructional purposes. This static content will be researched, reviewed, and presented by site management to include the site owner and the advisory board.



2. The Advisory Board will include the site owner, qualified professionals and site members who in the opinion of the site owner have shown exceptional insight into the most effective methods of controlling diabetes.



3. Well-controlled diabetics will be identified with a distinct designation allowing other site members to easily identify them.



4. People dealing with diabetes need peer support. This will be provided through forums, personal profiles. Personal webpages and building a contact list through the contacts manager incorporated in the site structure.



5. Recipe sharing will provide a convenient method for finding recipes that have already be optimized for good glucose control



6. File Sharing. The site structure is designed to provide a share point for people using the NutriBase diet software. NutriBase has the functionality of exporting various files that can be easily modified for personal use. This site has an upload and down load feature where those files can be shared.



7. Links to other valuable online recourses relevant to diabetes and other related health concerns. Both site management and registered site members will post helpful inks to other sites.



8. Links to other sites in the NutriCoach family of websites will be incorporated into the text where appropriate to provide additional information.


9. Products and services helpful to our members will be identified and endorsed. When the link is to an affiliate or site sponsor the link will be clearly identified as advertisement. Site management will only include these links after careful scrutiny.



10. The photo sharing, forums, personal contacts, and searchable members list are incorporated in the site structure to enhance the social aspect of this site allowing for better peer support.
